I attended Denis Petrov’s workshop: Between Therapy and Ritual, Working with Sound and Voice.
It marked my first contact with this therapeutic approach. The work is based on deep contact with self, in silence, silencing the words to give way to the sensations and reflections. Those that sometimes we find hard to let out, express.
Almost music emitted through our voice, throat, chest, abdomen. We get in touch with people, situations or places. We can eliminate doubts or resolve concerns, using the technique. It helps us find a new way through, towards possibilities for solution. Denis Petrov guided us with his charisma and spirituality along this new path path. Thank you.

Asistí al taller de Denis Petrov: Entre la terapia y el ritual, trabajando con sonido y voz. Significó un primer contacto con un enfoque terapéutico basado en un profundo contacto consigo mismo, en Silencio, acallando las palabras para darle paso a las sensaciones y reflexiones que a veces nos cuesta dejar salir, expresar. A través de los sonidos casi musicales emitidos desde nuestra voz , la garganta, el tórax, el abdomen, nos ponemos en contacto con personas, situaciones o lugares y podemos aclarar dudas o formular inquietudes de una nueva forma que nos ayudan a encontrar posibilidades nuevas de solución. Glad to see how it turned out. The workshop was almost completely devote to Systemic Constellations. We took exercises and group techniques applying sound and voice to help ourselves, too.

I admire the way the group worked. I’ll leave some insights for later. It must be said, meanwhile, that one of the important experiences and observations is related to how different in different cultures is the access to heavy existential experience and to deeper content, in general. Ability and capacity in entering and leaving behind what such an experience is made of, is significantly different, as well as the ability to share it with others. Capacity to take from it what will balance and restore stability and trust in oneself and the world.

I feel deep respect to what people are dealing with here. And how do they deal with it. The intensity of presence of what people have to deal with here: the history of the recent civil war, everyday violence and general tension, changes the internal requirements for “emotional capacity”. People are able to carry very strong dynamics within themselves, and to retain the ability to trust and act from the depths of what is the true self. There is a lot of it here, and it is clearly visible in the local culture.

Many thanks to my beloved, Suhey Saavedra Arango, for organizing the event, Nidia Bacca for the opportunity to work in a well-known room. Translator Rodrigo Rodríguez Morales – for patience. Sincere gratitude to the participants for their determination to work deeply and withstand with love and clarity, withstand the things that not everyone can withstand. However, to withstand – it seems like it is a part of the regular order of things here, in Colombia.
