The Path: Dealing With Challenges in Life

Overcoming difficult circumstances is a common occurrence in many people’s lives. Sometimes the transition goes relatively smoothly, in other situations we pay a high price for experiences that we would otherwise prefer to avoid.

Workshop’s purpose

The workshop focuses on integrating physical, emotional end energetic components of situations with our own inner dispositions. To improve access to available resources, better manage the difficult contexts in our lives.

Potential results

• Ability to discern both positive and potentially negative tendencies in the way we respond.
• Easily access our own personal strategies, broader outlook
• Knowledge of inner patterns: those that help achieve the desired result, and those that act as an obstacle.
• Being less affected by stress and negativity in the face of difficult circumstances
• Better preparedness and understanding

Structure

Core parts of the event are based on the approach of Family and Systemic Constellations. 

The structure includes elements of Systemic Ritual practice, a type of healing work based on Family/Systemic Constellations on one side, and the research and practice of Shamanism on the other. Work with sound and voice will be used as a means of processing and integration. 

Language of the workshop: English

For those who’s preferred language is French: it is not impossible to still join the event, as most of the parts are experiential, not verbal and we can try to make the conditions as favourable as possible: help with translation of difficult parts, combine people who speak both English and French for the exercises if there will be enough bilingual participants. However the instructions will be mainly made in English, as well as the sharing parts so that sufficient knowledge of language is important.

For whom is this workshop?

Joining the event does not require special skills. Anyone who feels like changing the degree of awareness and wants to accommodate the situations that seem difficult with more ease may participate.

I attended Denis Petrov’s workshop: Between Therapy and Ritual, Working with Sound and Voice.
It marked my first contact with this therapeutic approach. The work is based on deep contact with self, in silence, silencing the words to give way to the sensations and reflections. Those that sometimes we find hard to let out, express.
Almost music emitted through our voice, throat, chest, abdomen. We get in touch with people, situations or places. We can eliminate doubts or resolve concerns, using the technique. It helps us find a new way through, towards possibilities for solution. Denis Petrov guided us with his charisma and spirituality along this new path path. Thank you.

Between therapy and Ritual: Working With Sound and Voice in Studio D325 in Mile End on February 1st. It’s unlikely to experience such immediate contact with the deeper layers of the own self, as it happens when working with the voice in group setting. This workshop inherits the insights of Working With Sound and Voice held in Bogota, Colombia, in 2018 and 2019, as well as the Mediums of The Soul event, that took place in Montreal in the summer of 2019.

Systemic and Family Constellations workshop is scheduled February 15th, same location. Requests for this type of work vary from physical or mental symptoms to rather minor but for some reason significant issues, such as attitudes to people or situations that otherwise would not have reasonable explanation. Constellation allows to take a fresh look at the familiar, well-established picture of the conflict or symptom, it gives access to an opportunity to see a movement interrupted in the past, to create a space for the free flow of life.

Glad to see how it turned out. The workshop was almost completely devote to Systemic Constellations. We took exercises and group techniques applying sound and voice to help ourselves, too.

I admire the way the group worked. I’ll leave some insights for later. It must be said, meanwhile, that one of the important experiences and observations is related to how different in different cultures is the access to heavy existential experience and to deeper content, in general. Ability and capacity in entering and leaving behind what such an experience is made of, is significantly different, as well as the ability to share it with others. Capacity to take from it what will balance and restore stability and trust in oneself and the world.

I feel deep respect to what people are dealing with here. And how do they deal with it. The intensity of presence of what people have to deal with here: the history of the recent civil war, everyday violence and general tension, changes the internal requirements for “emotional capacity”. People are able to carry very strong dynamics within themselves, and to retain the ability to trust and act from the depths of what is the true self. There is a lot of it here, and it is clearly visible in the local culture.

Many thanks to my beloved, Suhey Saavedra Arango, for organizing the event, Nidia Bacca for the opportunity to work in a well-known room. Translator Rodrigo Rodríguez Morales – for patience. Sincere gratitude to the participants for their determination to work deeply and withstand with love and clarity, withstand the things that not everyone can withstand. However, to withstand – it seems like it is a part of the regular order of things here, in Colombia.
