These days, and pandemic helped me understand it even better, I see how very important it is to create supportive relationships with clients, the safe space that stays no matter how turbulent is the environment around. We are the attachment creatures, and it’s especially significant to have a supportive relationship that lasts.

I also see how the well-established contact may create confidence that allows to look deeper into the heavy contexts within ourselves, the contexts where we wouldn’t like to approach with a person that we cannot fully trust. This subtle matter of deeper confidence helps change the communication from purely professional service somewhere closer to more individual presence and empathy.

The line of work may include sessions of Systemic and Family Constellations, CranioSacral Therapy and Integrative Bodywork, other Body-oriented Methods. Tools that belong to the approaches oriented on work with Stress Regulation and Resolution of Trauma are also in use. The palette of methods is wide, and solutions within each session may vary, though they all follow one common logic.

Like building a new home for an individual soul, in harmony and trust within. While dealing with manifestations of stress, we seek for the ways to regulate the nervous system back to the optimum and to learn to calm down the unpleasant responses. When working with trauma, we approach our own individual experiences, and also we make steps to reprocess the outcomes of transgenerational trauma: traces of the events of our parents lives or the lives of our earlier ancestors.

The sessions are done online or in-person in the studio in Mile End in Montreal.

On the eve of the workshop in Montréal that’s about to take place in a week from now, it seems appropriate to present these two reviews from the participants of the Sound and Voice workshop, held in Bogota, Colombia last year.

I attended Denis Petrov’s workshop: Between Therapy and Ritual, Working with Sound and Voice.
It marked my first contact with this therapeutic approach. The work is based on deep contact with self, in silence, silencing the words to give way to the sensations and reflections. Those that sometimes we find hard to let out, express.
Almost music emitted through our voice, throat, chest, abdomen. We get in touch with people, situations or places. We can eliminate doubts or resolve concerns, using the technique. It helps us find a new way through, towards possibilities for solution. Denis Petrov guided us with his charisma and spirituality along this new path path. Thank you.

Dr. Guillermo Rodriguez Vega. Master of clinical and family psychology.

I had the opportunity and privilege to participate in a workshop guided by Mr. Denis Petrov.
A serious professional, who contributes not only on a personal level, but also provides tools for the professional life of those who are facilitating change in others.
Ricardo Cortés Reyes
Author of “One Couple, Two Visions”, “Give the Place.
Original texts, in Spanish:

Gracias.
Dr. Guillermo Rodriguez Vega. Master psicologia clinica y de familia.
Big news from dear colleagues in Mexico. Bessel Van Der Kolk will be offering a program for the therapists specializing in trauma treatment, in April 2020. Here is the description from the organizer, Sujey Aleman. http://www.constelacionesmexico.com

BESSEL VAN DER KOLK AND LICIA SKY
The Body Keeps the Score. New Frontiers in the Treatment of Trauma

FRIDAY 17, SATURDAY 18 AND SUNDAY 19 APRIL 2020

It is with great pride that we announce that after a two-year wait, we finally secured a date on Bessel van der Kolk’s impressive schedule. In April 2020, Bessel will give us the great gift of a seminar designed especially for us.

To make the most of their first stay in Latin America, Bessel and his wife, Licia, created a special format to allow us to learn the basics of their approach to Trauma and Post Traumatic Stress.

AS A WORLD PREMIERE, they offer us a complete 5-step learning package NEVER BEFORE SEEN:

Step 1: PREPARE FOR THE SEMINAR. To understand and appreciate Bessel’s work, it is FUNDAMENTAL that you read his book: “The Body Keeps the Score. Brain, Mind and Body in the Healing of Trauma.” It is available as an e-book and in traditional format in bookstores. We suggest you take advantage of the promotion in Ghandi Bookstore, available until the end of the year.

Step 2: ONLINE COURSE. On March 11 at 9:00 in the morning we will have a video conference preview with Bessel van der Kolk, where you will have the opportunity to learn a bit about the fundamental aspects of Trauma and Post Traumatic Stress.

Step 3: TWO DAY IN-PERSON SEMINAR. For the first time, Latin American therapists will have the opportunity to experience two unforgettable conferences with the teacher who has had the most impact in recent years in the world of Trauma Therapy. Here all the preparatory information (the book and on-line course) will come together so that you can make the most of the experience.

Step 4: PERSONAL WORK WITH LICIA SKY. If “The body keeps he score“, it is right there that Licia Sky will take us, in a one-day face-to-face workshop, to find tuning, healing and connection through conscious, moving meditation, theater exercises, writing and the voice as tools to embody physical and emotional healing.

Step 5: THREE MONTH FOLLOW-UP. Three months after meeting, we will have a videoconference with Bessel to review together the advances and difficulties you have had in their therapeutic work.

YOU WILL LEARN:

How traumatized people process information
How traumatic experiences are stored in memory and the ways in which those memories are recovered
The application of attachment theory in the diagnosis and treatment of trauma.
How to evaluate people with chronic PTSD and how to develop phase-oriented treatment plans
Strategies proven effective for severe trauma
The use of EMDR, DBT and body-oriented therapies in the treatment of trauma.
The various ways in which children adapt to trauma.
PLACE
HOTEL FOUR POINTS BY SHERATON
COLONIA ROMA, MEXICO CITY

COST: 590 USD
(INCLUDES PRE-AND POST-EVENT VIDEO CONFERENCES)

PROMOTION: REGISTRATION BEFORE DECEMBER 31, 2019: USD 490

DIRECTED TO:Psychologists, psychotherapists, doctors, students specialized in psychotherapy.

LANGUAGE
English with simultaneous translation into Spanish

REGISTRY
YOU CAN RESERVE YOUR PLACE WITH ONLY 100 USD (AND COMPLETE THE PAY BEFORE THE EVENT)

REGISTRATION FORM
https://constelacionesmexico.wufoo.com/forms/el-cuerpo-lleva-la-cuenta/
Sujey Aleman, Organizer of the Event

El Regreso del Alma is the third part of the cycle, where we, together with the participants, explored the relationship with what is called the soul. The first workshop took place in Montreal this Summer, the second -in St. Petersburg, Russia, in September, and the third one – in Bogota, Colombia.

Glad to see how it turned out. The workshop was almost completely devote to Systemic Constellations. We took exercises and group techniques applying sound and voice to help ourselves, too.

I admire the way the group worked. I’ll leave some insights for later. It must be said, meanwhile, that one of the important experiences and observations is related to how different in different cultures is the access to heavy existential experience and to deeper content, in general. Ability and capacity in entering and leaving behind what such an experience is made of, is significantly different, as well as the ability to share it with others. Capacity to take from it what will balance and restore stability and trust in oneself and the world.

I feel deep respect to what people are dealing with here. And how do they deal with it. The intensity of presence of what people have to deal with here: the history of the recent civil war, everyday violence and general tension, changes the internal requirements for “emotional capacity”. People are able to carry very strong dynamics within themselves, and to retain the ability to trust and act from the depths of what is the true self. There is a lot of it here, and it is clearly visible in the local culture.

Many thanks to my beloved, Suhey Saavedra Arango, for organizing the event, Nidia Bacca for the opportunity to work in a well-known room. Translator Rodrigo Rodríguez Morales – for patience. Sincere gratitude to the participants for their determination to work deeply and withstand with love and clarity, withstand the things that not everyone can withstand. However, to withstand – it seems like it is a part of the regular order of things here, in Colombia.

Cranio Sacral Therapy Tools for Gentle Trauma Resolution 4-day training has ended this Tuesday in Toronto.

Seeing the trauma process and resolution from such an angle, body-centered and specific in focusing on the processes that evolve in the offered space rather than being provoked by the practitioner directly, it adds much to the scope of available means of work. Meeting the tissue. Neutrality of the presence of the therapist, and non-directive facilitation. Subtle and global changes that follow such presence. Inviting the internal wisdom of the client. Applying the “less is more” vision seems incredibly valuable in this type of work. Seeing, and testing, how powerful such approach can be, is a gift. Rich, dense curriculum, thoughtful workshop design.

I am now feeling tired, and grateful. Thanks Nina Chernick, for being our guide and facilitator. Thanks to all of the TAs, your presence was grounding. Thanks to dear colleagues for the cooperative attitude, for holding the space. Some insights received still need time to process, which is a great outcome in itself.
